midwest view :: photography

i have a friend that told me once he doesn't like windmills because they freak him out.   i've always thought they were beautiful, but i will admit that they intimidate me.   such large pieces of sharp metal...

on our drive up to chicago this weekend, i was thinking about how eerie and surreal the midwest view can be.   it's desolate and vast, sporadically filled with run down barns and homes.   there's a windmill farm on the way.  i know some find it boring (my husband), but i actually quite enjoy it.
