how to enter:

1. post you best photo (or set of photos) of the spookiest place you know onto cp :: photography's facebook wall.
2. submissions must be posted by october 5th @ midnight.

rules:

1. your entry must be a photograph that you, yourself took.
2. keep it PG
3. photo editing is allowed.  no limits there.
4. submissions must be posted within the contest timeframe and onto my facebook wall.  i will not accept emailed submissions.

judging will take place on october 6th & 7th and will be done by a panel of my artsy fartsy friends.  only the winner will be notified on facebook & this blog.

'the open' photography contest

thumbprint valentines :: project for kids :: holiday

"bump" is getting a little more interested in our projects!  this week, the boys and i made valentines for a few special gals in our lives.   i wanted to do something simple so that "bump" could get involved too, and thumbprint valentines were a perfect choice.  ink, paper, stickers (and a mess) and the valentines were complete!

going into this, i really had no idea what we would shape their thumbprints into.  the tree one above is my favorite, however, there we're a couple 'bugs' that turned out cute too.  can you tell that those are hearts in the picture with the panda?  what will you do for valentines this year?

p.s.  today is the last day to enter the self-portrait contest!  i really hope you'll put together a submission.  loves.

400th post! :: photography contest

hello friends! you're not going to believe this, but this is my 400th post!   to celebrate, i am hosting a little contest and the winner will receive a free 2-hour photo shoot with yours truly and all of the digital files with copyright release.   i'm so excited about this!  o, and did i mention i will travel anywhere?! 

how to enter:

1. post a self-portrait onto cp :: photography's facebook wall.
2. submissions must be posted by february 8th @ midnight.

rules:

1. your entry must be a self-portrait... meaning you took the portrait, painted the portrait, etc.
2. all forms of art are accepted - not just photography!
3. you may use a tripod to take a self-photograph, but no one else can snap the shutter.  timers and remotes are allowed.
4. submissions must be posted within the contest timeframe and onto my facebook wall.  i will not accept emailed submissions.

judging will take place on february 9th - 10th and will be done by a panel of my artsy fartsy friends.  only the winner will be notified on facebook & this blog.

so.... why a self portrait?  because you are beautiful!  and because not everyone has cute babies or weddings to photograph.  and because it's hard.  one of the most difficult things in the world for me (and most people i know) is to look at a picture of myself and think it's lovely.  so i welcome and admire your courage!  i can't wait to see all of your creativity!
