historic homes :: central illinois photography

sometimes, on sundays, we'll all pile in the car and go on a family 'adventure'.  this basically means, we don't know where we are going.  i always take my camera of course.  last sunday, we stumbled upon this lovely historic town while searching for an antique shop.  we never did find the shop, but i was ok with that after seeing this beautiful & rich architecture.  the details!  can you imagine living in such a place?

brick tour :: city photography

i love an old brick building.   they are intriguing even when run-down and grown-over.  their colors are rich and rustic and i imagine the stories that have been created inside of them.  they have history and hold their place in a city like a controversial political character... loved and hated by so many.  they are beautifully fascinating.

p.s.  i have been playing with a new lens.  the photos seem to take on a life of their own when i use it.  what do you think?
