vintage elementry desk :: furniture makeover

believe it or not, this charming desk (and other antiques) were about to be thrown out.  thankfully my good friend sharon knew i would snag up any old piece and place in a good home.  after a little paint & tlc, this vintage elementary school desk found a home in "the monster's" room.

i used chalkboard paint on the top surface which i am starting to regret a bit.  after moving the desk into the house, "the monster" covered every inch of the black top with blue chalk and then erased it all with his hands.  he then proceeded to find entertainment in smacking the couch cushions and watching the chalk dust fly thru-out the living room.  this of course, made the dog sneeze like crazy... which in turn, woke the baby.

even still... it's a lovely desk.
