white crayon & watercolor :: diy :: kid projects

i am working with the boys on their christmas gifts for family & friends.  we try to make as many of them as possible and they both love to paint... so we naturally knocked out a few gifts that way.

one fun technique is using white crayon and then brushing watercolors over it.  the paint covers everywhere but the white crayon markings.  it's also fun because the boys couldn't see what they were drawing as they marked it.  i think "the monster" did a great job on his bunny for "bump"!  of course, everyone else got cars.  and "bump" just scribbled painted one picture and then got bored and enjoyed splattering watercolors all over our dining room.

good thing it's easy to clean up.  xoxo
