spring surprises :: nature photography

because this is our first spring on the farm, i really had no idea what plants were already growing in the yard.  it has been so enjoyable to discover new life... especially when it smells like a lilac.

p.s. we have a dove that has made a nest above our garage door and so we now leave it open at all times.  the other day, "the monster" found a robins nest in the tractor tire... unfortunately, we needed to use the tractor, so my husband moved the robin eggs to the dove nest.  she's taking care of them well!  just like they were her own.  i love her for that.  she can stay in our garage anytime...
