chicago shoreline :: chicago photography

the chicago shoreline in the winter is an interesting place to be. the wind coming off the lake is brutally cold and sharp. your bones turn to ice and it can be difficult to breath.

but then... you see the contrasting views in each direction and the beauty of it all just might make the bitterness worth it. looking toward the city, you see the masses off to work, or on the train, or honking their car horns. and looking toward the lake you see emptiness and quiet. i love that. i love standing right in between such opposing views... with admiration and fear for both sides.
