art with font :: graphic design

have you seen the lovely aierbazzi font?!  instead of outputting letters as you hit the keyboard, it displays tree branches and/or flower blooms.  i think this is an awesome idea to make a personalized gift for a friend... or even new baby!

i used photoshop to add some texture & color behind my aierbazzi, but even just simple black and white would make a statement.

fun, right?!  now you can be the graphic design artist you never knew you were!

2013 calendar :: nature photography :: graphic design

although it's barely autumn and i haven't had nearly enough pumpkin spice latte's yet, it's still time to begin preparing for holiday sales.  and that means designing the 2013 cp :: photography calendar.  because you are my favorite and because you are so loyal, i am giving you the first look at the full 12 months!

the calendar will be sent to the printer today and on sale in the etsy shop & urban sass sometime next week!

xoxo.

postcard art :: photography :: graphic design

i have been working on a new line of postcard designs for my shop.  lately, i have been loving patterns so i thought i'd mix them with some of my photography.  what do you think?   don't you just find postcards to be the most fun kind of snail mail?

p.s.  i have a name for my shop!  'urban sassafras' will be opening this fall.  what a difficult task it was to come up with the perfect title!  my incredibly talented friend, scott richardson, is working on a logo for me.  we met for lunch yesterday and i'm giddy with excitement!  stay tuned...

be :: graphic design :: free printable

all month long, "the monster" and his friends have been celebrating dr seuss.   i created this fun poster for him to hang in his room because i just love the message.   my son is so special and funny and creative, yet i find he closes up when others are around.   it hurts me when i see him do this, so i've been slowly trying to overcome his shyness with lessons like the one above.  feel free to download and print off to share with your little kiddos too!   just click on the image above and hit print.
