as we were packing up his backpack last night with all of his school supplies, i started reminiscing about the exciting feeling i had each year when i did the same. the smell of new supplies and the potential of a new year always made me simply giddy. now, as an adult and as an artist, i get that same feeling when i obtain new art supplies. actually, i don't even have to get new supplies to feel excited. even just cleaning off my desk of the clutter and organizing my paintbrushes sends a rush of creativity right thru me.
